Brief info
Dr. Alex Koshy was born and raised in a Pentecostal home in Kallisseri, Kerala, India. His parents, Professor/Pastor T. C. Koshy and Mrs. Chinnama Koshy, who are in full time ministry, were diligent in training and nurturing their children in the ways of the Lord.
With systematic Christian Education through Sunday school and exposure to involvement in ministry early on in life through youth ministries played a key role in his spiritual growth. He accepted Christ Jesus as his personal Savior and Lord at the age of twelve and took water baptism and was filled with Holy Spirit two years later. By God’s grace, he earned an undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemistry and a PhD in polymer chemistry including post-doctoral research work. He also completed a Master’s in Divinity and is an ordained minister of the Indian Pentecostal Church of God. As a university faculty at Chicago State University and a prison chaplain at Cook county prison system, he is passionate about evangelism, seeing lives restored, mentoring, and shaping the next generation to know the Lord in a diverse and changing culture. He sees his vocation as an opportunity to advance the kingdom of God.
He is married to Lisa and they are blessed with two children, Andrew, and Rachel. After arriving to United States in 1993, he became a member of International Christian Assembly of God in Chicago and has been playing an active role in the church ever since. God has enabled him to travel to various places nationally and internationally to preach the gospel and spread the love of Christ.
As a third-generation evangelist and minister, it is the desire of Dr. Alex and his family to continue to serve the Lord and His people.
