Pastor George K. Stephenson

Senior Pastor

Hi friends, I’m Pastor George K. Stephenson, and it has been my honor to serve as the Senior Pastor of ICAG/Celebration Church in Chicago since 1978. Born and raised in Kerala, India, I was blessed to grow up in a family deeply rooted in ministry. It was during a period of personal health challenges that I fully committed my life to God’s service, a decision that has shaped my journey ever since.

Before immigrating to the United States, I served as a pastor and youth leader with the Pentecostal Young People’s Association (PYPA) in India. Moving to the U.S. was a pivotal moment in my life and ministry, as I joined my late wife, Leelamma, in following God’s call. After her passing in 2000, God, in His grace, blessed me with a new life partner in 2005. Together, we share a beautiful family of four children, their wonderful spouses, and ten grandchildren who bring immense joy to our lives.

Over the years, I’ve cherished being a friend, counselor, and supporter to those in need of pastoral care. One of the greatest joys of ministry has been connecting with individuals across denominations and fostering unity among God’s people. I am profoundly grateful for the love and support of our Celebration Church family and the incredible network of friends God has placed in my life.

In 2024, God granted me a miraculous extension of life following a significant medical procedure. This experience has reignited my passion for ministry, and I am excited to lead a dedicated team as we prepare to host the Pentecostal Conference of North American Keralites (PCNAK) in Chicago in July 2026.

A verse that has been my guiding light is 2 Corinthians 2:14: “God always causeth us to triumphant celebration.” This verse perfectly reflects the faith, hope, and joy I strive to share with everyone I encounter.

My story is one of God’s sustaining grace and the boundless possibilities of a life dedicated to His service. It is my prayer that, through my ministry, others may find encouragement and strength in their walk with the Lord.
